Uncharacteristic Poor Design

I usually love PD products but am sorely dissatisfied in the wireless charging car mount. You will NOT be able to mount this sideways (sticking out from your dash as opposed to sitting on top) without the 3M adhesive failing immediately. Yes, I waited even longer than the 24 hours to allow the adhesive to form a bond - still had my mount begin peeling off immediately upon use. If you don’t have a modern, luxury style dash like the ones pictured then this mount will probably not work for you. Really disappointed in PD as they usually design products so thoughtfully.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sorry for the frustration here! While mounting on top of the dash is most ideal for our car mount due to the slight curvature in the base, the mounts can and have been able to be mounted to fronts of car dashboards that are more "flat" as you have described here.
We have also seen instances of adhesive failing if not properly cleaned thoroughly which is why we express this importance very strongly in all of our videos. This is especially important if products like armor-all have been used in the past as those can leave a coating that can prevent the adhesive from adhering properly.
We are also working to make modifications to the base plate of the Car Mounts to be able to better accommodate both Flat and more curved surfaces. We have reached out to you via email to send one out of these to try out and see if that resolves this issue for you as we think it should!

Great products, great built but lack of mounts

The product is great but the mount only comes with the permanent adhesive option, it doesn't like other car mounts / holder that comes with the air-vent mounting that actually very useful in more scenarios.

Finally a charging car mount that works

The quality are functionality of the car mount was frankly a huge surprise, I've tried several and they never really work, either the attachment to the dash or the magnetic hold are not strong enough. The Peak Design version is excellent, the adhesive attachment to the dash is super strong and so far has withstood some really hot days, the magnet attachment for the phone in the case is strong and stays in place even in rough conditions. The icing on the cake is the tiny adhesive cable clips that are included, these all the cable to. be neatly routed around the dash. I would love to purchase some more, so please make these available to buy.

Perfect car mount

At first I was afraid of attaching it with glue to the dashboard of the car, because the holder is slightly curved and in my car a completely flat base would be better, but after a month I can say that it does not move from its place. The magnetic attachment of the phone is absolutely sufficient even on the roads in the Czech Republic :-). The workmanship is top-notch, I recommend it.

Fantastic mount! But only w/ particular dashboards

Like other reviewers mentioned, this PD car mount is very particular in terms of finding an appropriate home on your dash. Due to my car's (2020 RAV4) interior with a giant screen and protruding surfaces, I only had one place to adhere this mount. See photos attached.
I did not attach it on the dash itself because from prior experience (with other mounts) my phone will overheat during Spring/Summer - as sunlight hits my phone directly. Therefore, I placed this mount just below the left side A/C on the pleather surface. PD doesn't recommend to stick on textured surfaces, but there was no other option. I've been using this mount for about a month now (with the PD Universal Adapter), and so far it's been great! The only other minor gripe is that my iPhone cable has to hang across my steering wheel to reach my phone.
All in all, I love the one-handed attachment/detachment. So easy! For reference, I have the non-charging car mount. Due to its limited "compatibility" with dashboards, I do feel that the price point is a little high as well.
I would simply recommend to check your dash area to ensure that this mount is placed in a comfortable position for you as the driver.

Great product! A few things....

I really love this product and how it streamlines my commutes! I drive A LOT for work so having a simple and efficient magnet mount that also charges was a slam dunk! However, my car mount did not come with the cable clips shown on the packaging. Also, and I'm not sure if this is actually an issue, the thing gets hot. Like really hot. Which gets your phone hot and the Peak Design logo on the mobile adapter on my phone has slightly melted as a result. I love Peak so much at this point that I really can't hold it against them though. Thanks again guys!

Didn't work with my dashboard

High quality product, would have loved to keep it, but it didn't work with my dashboard. The arm to hold the phone is short, so without a sharp drop off from the top of the dashboard, the bottom of my phone hits the air vent. This tips the phone backwards, and I get too much glare on the screen. This is with a Subaru Legacy.

Good device, gets very warm

I have owned the charging car mount for a couple weeks now and it is definitely convenient and works as described. The downside is that the charging mount itself and the attached phone get very warm while charging. Much warmer than other wireless charging stands or cradles I have used. I have to point an A\C vent at the mount & phone just to keep them both cool. It is a well known fact that excessive heat causes phone batteries to degrade faster than normal, so this warming is a design flaw IMO.
