The bike mount ejected the phone onto the highway and it was crushed to pieces. Now have to replace a phone.

Great but has some major flaws

I am not convinced that this product is as great as everyone claims it to be. I will say, the actual locking mechanism is superb. Your phone isn't going anywhere when attached the mount and yet it seamlessly comes off when pressing the side buttons simultaneously. I will also add that claiming you can "flip it up to film your ride" isn't that revolutionary when you realize it's just a provided thumb screw that you have to tighten and loosen while you ride. If your sole purpose is to have a phone mount that's reliable and easy to quickly remove your phone, then absolutely get this mount (if you can afford it) and read no further!
Here's my gripe:
They advertise this mount as being able to rotate/move so that you can film your rides (this is what drew me to this mount). And while you can do that, it's pretty obvious their R&D didn't do much field testing. The out front mount isn't as long as it should be, so when you tilt you mount back your phone will hit the stem of your bike. This only applies to if you're filming in portrait mode, but it's a pretty major flaw IMO. I don't even have a large phone, so I'm not even sure if the large iPhones/Androids would even work. I would love if they offered a second, longer, out front mount. On top of that, when your phone is attached to the mount, there's a slight give/jiggle in the attachment, so your phone shakes a little while you're filming. For how much you have to pay for this mount and the phone case, the locked fit should be tight with no movement so that's pretty disappointing.

not so strong as it should be

I used it for months with no problem. Today during road cycling after cca 30km I hit small bump on the road and phone fell down. Screen, back cover and camera is broken and frame is bent. iPhone 13 pro max is dead. Cost of repair is more than the second-hand retail price.

Faultless bike mount, highly recommended

Have been looking for a solution to attach my phone to my mountain bike to help with trail/road navigation for some time. During my research, came across peak design in various YouTube reviews and when I compared to available options, I thought they were best in every aspect, style, functionality, usability etc.
Bought peak design phone case and out front bike mount a few weeks ago and have been very pleased and impressed by both in every way.
Phone case looks and feels good, and doesn’t add too much extra size to phone overall. It has just the right balance between grip and slip, eg easily slips into pocket (unlike some more rubbery cases), yet feels secure when holding phone.
Mounting system is first class, quick to attach/remove phone with one hand and trouble free thanks to magnetic alignment system. Holds securely, no wobble, easy to install/adjust mount etc and now includes collars for all popular handlebar sizes (I’m using the 35mm collar from v2 mount - rock solid). It is exactly as per peak design marketing video.
Only issue is phone getting mud splatter running down very soggy UK MTB trails (bike has no mudguards), but I have solved that using cheap waterproof phone sleeve with small hole cut to allow peak design mount to work as normal (see pics).

Great Bike Mount
on January 30, 2024

I’m pretty picky on cases and bike mounts so after months of looking and researching I decided to land on Peak Design.
The mount has a minimal look, which I appreciate compared to other brand mounts. Phone attaches effortlessly to the mount and feels very sturdy once on. From smooth streets, to gravel roads, the mount has performed as expected. Removal of the phone from the mount is ridiculously easy and intuitive. The ability to mount my light on the bottom of the mount is a real plus and gives clean aesthetics.
Overall happy with the mount combined with the phone case.

Great for Specialized Tero X 4.0!

The handle bar mount fits exactly to Specialized Tero X 4.0 (31.8mm (1-1/4"))! Firm even on rough terrain. Primarily used this on my daily commutes & recreational rides with my family. Easy to remove/add when parking to keep on my bag with the use of an additional Thumb Screw. I ordered another product for my wife as we are satisfied with the quality and ease of use.

Solid, quality products

I recently switched from quadlock mount to Peak Design. The quality is higher, the mount is more solid and really is easier to use. I recently had an issue with one of the mounts I ordered where the thumbscrew broke due to the treads not being tapped correctly, but they warrantied it out very quickly and easily. Great company, great products.
