Good product but not strong enough for rough roads

I love the sleek look and design but I wish it attached via the locking mechanism like seen on the moto and tripod mount. I live in Kenya and we have rough roads, rumble trips and speed bumps. Almost every time I drive, the phone falls off the mount.

Sturdy mag safe mount

I've never like vent mounts as they would always come loose, especially with the weight of an iphone pro max but the Peak Design version has a clever locking system that holds the mount firmly in place. I would recommend for most vents.

Okay so maybe I'm biased but every single Peak Design product I have ever bought is outstanding - use, durability, innovation, style - and this one is no exception. It suggested some instructions for installation but TBH the design is so brilliant that it was easy enough to figure it out in the moment. Another great addition to my magback case system.

Great design and ease of use

I have the charging car mount and I love it. I don't have to think about my phone running out of charge or having to plug in every time I get in the car. The PD phone case works well with it but when I had the adapter on my old phone case it was hard to find the sweet spot to mount and it didn't charge, so I recommend getting all the PD components. It was super easy to install and very flexible for getting the phone is optimal position. I appreciate the extra vent holder so it doesn't fall off like my previous phone mounts.

Great product, with a few limitations

Bought together with the everyday case for a new Android phone. Install was easy, and worked with both drivers' side vents (different orientations/angles). With the phone case, it's very convenient to just plop the phone down on the magnet. So far, I haven't had any issues with the magnet strength.
A few caveats, which are more "me" problems/things I should have thought about than problems with the device. I have an older car that does not support wireless Android Auto. As such, I have to choose between keeping the charger plugged in and driving without Android Auto (i.e., use my phone screen rather than car screen), or leaving the phone on the magnetic mount, but change the cord to plug in the phone directly. I don't have enough USB ports to do both at once. It's just a tiny bit of pain to switch back and forth depending on my needs. To me this doesn't reflect badly on the mount at all; I didn't think it through before buying, and probably still would have bought it even if I had. But on the off-chance that this set-up might be more of a problem for someone else, I thought I'd mention it. All in all, it's a great product.

Hi having had the car mount in my car i found the magnet was very strong and secure you could literally feel the phone pulled onto the mount so i decided to go ahead and purchase the car vent mount for my van. The magnet on this i have to say is very disappointing and feels nothing like my other car mount. If you hit a bumpy rd the phone falls off or if you press the phone to change anything while it is sat on the mount it moves the phone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
