Have to say, I've tried a few options, but this one tops them all. The quality is superb, and the finish is top-notch. I would buy it again if I got a second car.

Solid Sturdy car mount, minor comments

build quality is great, no loose joints, and holds securely to the vent without vibration. Magnetic pad is as solid as all other Peak phone mounts, no the magnet locations make it conveniently lock in a vertical or horizontal orientation. Ball mount gives unlimited angle adjustment.
only comment i have is that the knobs to tighten the rotating arm and vent hook are smooth, which make it difficult to really crank down. if it has some knurled texture, that would make this perfect. but after a little effort, it's locked in and i haven't had to re-adjust.

i bought this a while and had a good chance to test this. On my 2016 Passat it does fit the vent, but only in one specific spot and even there it can come loose from time to time. when it does that it will still hold the phone and it won't come off, it will just rattle/move the phone. it is easy to reattach.

Extremely sturdy. The clip doesn’t come off due to the design with a hook. The magnet is strong. The only thing is that the swivel arm’s knob is not as tight as it could be. However I am using it in the collapsed direction and not the outstretched direction. Not sure if it affects the tension.

Substantial and so easy to use

I bought the car vent mount with charging. Very sturdy and so easy to use. It does block I little of the air coming through the vent but no big deal for me. How nice it is not to find a charging cord and a place to put my phone!

Firm mount with position flexibility

Mounted easily and firmly to my vent and allowed me to position my phone exactly where I wanted it.
One minor issue was this kept crashing my car's usb system and I had to add a data blocker to the cable to remove the issue. Not sure why this uses the data pins at all.
