The green light at the bottom lets you know that it is running. And there is a warning beep that sounds if the door is not closed right.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We previously had a chest freezer, which wasn't frost free and it was impossible to find things. Our New Frigidaire is AWESOME!! Just the right size for a small family. The shelving is perfect and allows for everything to be easily seen and found. The baskets on the bottom are perfect for small turkeys and other cuts of meats that can be bulky. Plus with it being frost free (which was a must have) it's a great appliance. Super happy with our purchase.
