We bought this to replace a one and a half year old Cuisinart coffee maker that developed a nasty drip in the carafe when trying to refill the reservoir. This one developed that same drip all over the counter after two days. The auto shutoff feature that is supposed to allow you to remove the carafe during brewing doesn’t work well and allows the coffee to keep dripping. The plastic filter holder doesn’t fit snuggly and tries to float to the top when water is added to the reservoir. I also had to put several layers of scotch tape over the blue display because it is blinding. This really isn’t a very good coffee maker.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our original Cuisinart coffeemaker broke and we, naturally, wanted to buy the same one to replace it. The new one can get very noisy as it brews. Also, you have to wait about a minute after you hear the beeps that tell you the coffee is ready. If you pull the carafe out before then, a tiny bit of coffee from the filter might drip onto the hot plate. These things don't really bother us because it DOES make a good cup of coffee.

This is the best coffee maker -- and white is the best color and glass is the best pot material. I have been buying this coffee maker (including it's predecessor models) for several years and will continue to do so as long as they don't change its features and design.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The opening for water is very small and can be difficult to pour water into it without pouring it into the coffee bean area. Poorly designed, especially for people with arthritic hands.

Difficult to pour the last bit of water due to how the top is configured. Also the carafe top is designed in a way that guarantees it will wear out early
