If you’re a Lego fan and a lotr fan this is a must buy, the amount of detail inside and out is great. I love how Lego makes it look all serious on the out side but makes the inside comical in ways

Best set EVER! Peak Lego. 99/100

I have built for decades and have built many Icon sets and large sets. This was one of the best value for the money, good quality build, and cool functionality. I would rate this a 99/100 if i had to grade it. Only gripe is there are 2 spots blue pieces slightly show through the black, but barely and only looking very close. The quality of the figures, the printed pieces, the functions in the tower, and the sturdiness of the build all surprised me for the value. For though expensive was fair the enormity of the build and the quality of printed pieces. For reference my previous favorite was mos isley set and I am a way bigger Star Wars set, but this tower blew it away. I was not at all embarrassed to tell co-workers and everyone I collect Lego, to display this masterpiece. Truely the finest of sets.

Built this product in waves of 5-6 bags at a time, roughly 18-19 hours. The newer models are starting to appear more detailed, and this tower really shows it. The tower is enormous compared to most sets around the same price range. Great price per piece for the set. The mini figures really put the icing on the cake for this set. Sauron is the golden piece next to the unique build for the eye for the tower. Everything connects and disconnects great if you need to move the tower around without lugging the entire thing around the house to another display or to play. The only downfall for this set was several solid black pieces had scratches on them, probably from just the packaging and pieces moving around, but it’s hardly noticeable when put together. Overall, it’s a fantastic set. Compared to the Rivendell set, I would put this second for the pure amount of unique mini figures that come with Rivendell, however, this is a must have for any Lord of the Rings fan or Lego fanatic.

I was reading through the reviews and was truly shocked to see how many people put a 1 star review because they didn't receive the GWP. You must take into consideration how many people wanted to buy this set and the site was probably swamped with buyers at midnight launch. I bought the set about 40 minutes after 6/1 launch and i was able to receive the fell beast GWP. I know it must be upsetting to not receive the GWP but, these reviews should be for the overall peice itself. The overall build is stunning and is definitely an eye candy piece to add to your Lord of the Rings collection. I know it's a lot of money but, if you want to invest in this set, I think it's worth it in the end...

One does not simply ...

Have the best time ever building a piece of Mordor. Or, I should say, they do! This was the perfect follow-up to the serene beauty of Rivendell. The harshness and despair of Barad-Dur is evident in this design and the little "secrets" to be found throughout are icing on the cake. The pieces that were created or recolored specifically for this set add to its timelessness. This set will be something that I and my family will enjoy for many years to come. Bravo, LEGO! And now ... how long until we get Minas Tirith or Gondolin? ;)

LOTR Fan Must Have

Absolutely loved this build and the minifigures are fantastic! I wish Frodo and Sam had scene appropriate torso prints, but I loved the inclusion of the orc helmets. I think a couple more orcs would have been good for the price tag, maybe Shagrat and Gorbag as named orcs from Cirith Ungol, but the Sauron and Mouth are amazing. All in all I think this is a must have for LOTR fans and I hope you all are able to get your hands on it.

Truly a great set that I hope inspires more LOTR sets to follow. Particularly some more play scale sets on the more affordable side. That being said this set and the GWP were perfect and did the source material Justice.

One of, if not my favorite, sets l've ever owned. I'm a huge Tolkien/Lord of the Rings fan, and this was a must. I normally don't buy massive Lego sets on day one, but this was an exception. The build experience was excellent. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes Lego/Lord of the Rings. I genuinely hope Lego continues this line and makes more affordable sets for everyone to enjoy. The figures included are spectacular, and I'm thrilled to finally have the main villain of the trilogy in minifigure form. The eye even lights up!
