If you’re a Lego fan and a lotr fan this is a must buy, the amount of detail inside and out is great. I love how Lego makes it look all serious on the out side but makes the inside comical in ways

The Eye of Sauron!

I love Lego! I love The Lord of the Rings! This set was a must have for me. I was so anxious and excited for it! The Mini Figures were outstanding, especially The Dark Lord Sauron. However, I would definitely have preferred more unique Orcs or Nazguls instead of Frodo, Sam and Gollum. The build was really enjoyable. All the Easter eggs were appreciated. I loved the exclusive gift with purchase Fel Beast as well. The Fel Beast really should have had eyes though. I look at the gorgeous Dark Tower Barad-Dur everyday along with my precious Rivendell(Imladris) and The Tower of Orthanc(Isengard). Overall, the Pros outweigh the Cons for me. Thank you so much. This build was a blast. Elaborate, cool, satisfying. I parsed it out over three days (one for each book). No missing pieces. The satisfaction of lighting Sauron's eye at the end is legit. My son - who just watched the trilogy for the first time - now has FOMO. I told myself I wouldn't buy a set this big again. Rivendell's in my cart. Well done, LEGO.

A happy zaddy

My husband is a huge nerd and was beyond excited when he saw that this Lego was being released. I bought this for him as a gift for his very first Father’s Day and our daughter quickly dropped to second place when this bad boy showed up on our doorstep. He thoroughly enjoys all of the detail this build contains and was beyond giddy the entire 20+ hours this project took him while also playing all of the movies to really set the mood, of course. Although he’d love to display this beast of a Lego in our family room, it sits happily in its special designated spot in his Lego room downstairs that brings him just pure joy when he enters. Though a part of me wishes this Lego sucked in hopes of deterring my husband from the next release or to stop him of dreaming of the other massive LOTR Lego, it was absolutely awesome and beyond hubs expectations. You win again, Lego.

Great value, amazing mini figure lineup, and great playable. The amount of detail is unbelievable and this in my opinion stands toe to toe with Rivendell and blows the Shire out of the water. Great build experience and would highly recommend for any lord of the rings fan.

Barad Dur was fun to build. Constructing the lava field below, the rock formations encrusting the tower, up to the great eye, it was a joy to see this dark monument take shape. I particularly like the fact that it can be taken apart into three stable sections for moving or for play. It is very imposing standing next to my son's Gringot's Bank. It is also a nice contrast to his Rivendell. The addition of the Fellbeast was an excellent GWP and fits right in to the Mordor diorama.

Great set!

Expensive but worth it. Had a blast building this set with my son over 4 days. We alternated building each bag together and had fun talking about the LOTR movies as we did it. I do wish there were some printed pieces instead of stickers. I think it’s a reasonable request based on the price. Overall this is a great set and I hope Lego continues to produce more LOTR sets.

My 18 year-old grandson comes to visit for a week or two every summer; Lego building is a highlight of his time, legos are his passion. He finished this Lord of the Rings set in his spare time in about 7 days. It was a challenge but great fun. What a sense of accomplishment once it was completed. Many characteristics have been sharpened because of legos ~ finishing what you start, eye hand coordination, puzzle solving, his family is there to cheer him on. Legos are a wonderful confidence builder!!
