Thank you for bringing back more Lord of the Rings sets! Barad Dur is an exciting new addition to our LEGO Middle Earth and medieval collection. As a hobbyist, parent, and educator, my family and I are so excited LEGO is bringing more LOTR sets to life. Please continue making more sets of all sizes! Tolkien's classics are timeless and will never go out of style. They definitely deserve a permanent LEGO World of their own!

Excellent Set need a full LOTR wave

I purchased the set on the release day and built it over the next two days with my kids helping here and there.
First, the GWP was excellent, very happy that Lego did one this year (and it definitely makes me want more smaller LOTR sets that I can let my kids build and play with)
Second. The build looks awesome. It is impressive in its size, and faithfully recreates the tower. The eye is particularly impressive at the top. The inside and play features were fun, my kids enjoyed using the play features and thought the dining area was funny. Really excellent choices throughout. There are a few parts that I will likely change the color (mostly in the middle section) but it looks really good and was good to build.
Third/last - the mini figures looked great. All of the prints and special parts are perfect. It would be nice to get the four orcs and accessories in a battle pack style set to fill out the tower with some more Orcs. Sauron is great. I would say that updating the prints for Sam and Frodo would have been more fitting for the set but the helmet moulds make up for that.
Overall this is a great set and I am very happy Lego produced it. I do love these giant sets, but this set has really made me want to see more smaller LOTR sets like the GWP represents or an ORC battle pack to accompany the larger set (an elf "battle pack" would have been a nice addition to Rivendell last year to fill out some scenes in that build as well).
I highly recommend this set, it was a great buy and I look forward to future LOTR sets.

Let this be the Return of the Theme!

"His fortress of Barad-Dur is rebuilt in the land of Mordor." Or rather rebuilt in LEGO! This set is amazing! I was very excited when I heard rumors about this set last year and I can honestly say that LEGO has outdone themselves yet again. Sauron's Dark Tower is expertly designed and full of fun details. Once again, I greatly appreciated every one of the comments and quotes that the creators put in the instructions. Regarding features of the set, I especially love the Eye of Sauron and every design choice that was made for it because it turned out spectacularly and was very fun to build. I thoroughly enjoyed the way the lava was designed throughout, the outer textures of the tower, as well as the roomy and detailed interiors. Barad-Dur is the tallest LEGO set I've ever built and I continue to marvel at its structural integrity and ingenuity. Bravo to the whole LEGO team behind this set! The Minifigures are all very high quality. Sauron of course is the cream of the crop and it is still incredible to believe that he exists! Much appreciation to LEGO for making that happen! Gothmog and all of the Orcs are insanely cool as are their new helmets, hair pieces, and shields. The updated Mouth of Sauron and Gollum are excellent too. Frodo and Sam's Orc helmets are exactly the way they are in the movie which is astounding. If Sam and Frodo each had a piece of Orc armor to cover their Hobbit clothes that would have made them impeccable. It was rumored that there would be 15 minifigures like there was in Rivendell and I was disappointed when there was only 10. Especially seeing as how the prices of the two sets are similar. I would've been happy even if there were duplicates of the Orcs. Overall, I am very happy with this set and I, like many fans, hope that the success of this set bodes very well for seeing a return of the entire LEGO LOTR theme. I think that everyone that purchased this set would be interested a range of new LOTR sets. Particularly some smaller and more affordable sets. I will certainly be on the lookout, hoping and wishing for their return!

Amazing presence with neat functionality

Loved the experience of building this set. Great that it is made from 3 main sections, which help in build, play, and moving. There are some fun mechanics here, from turning a rock to open the doors, a gear that lowers the skeleton in a cage into fire pit, a hidden chamber opening for Sauron's plans, and the crowning light up and swiveling Eye! The fire 🔥 lava effect is stunning, with jagged rocks. And the tower with all the spikey details is amazing. Well worth it!

For Frodo…..,

If you want the best chance of getting a GWP, register as an insider and order the instant it comes out. I live on the west coast and ordered at 9PM May 31st. No issue with GWP, order shipped timely and both sets are damage free. No one tricked anyone, and the stock level of the GWP is unfortunate, but did anyone really expect these to go slowly for the biggest release of 2024? The GWP, in full transparency, is truly not up to par, relative to how much people are upset about it. Barad Dur on the other hand, is mint and worth your time. GWP are free…….just be quicker on the trigger.

Loved being able to build a Barad-dur to go with Orthanc and Rivendell! Nice build experience and use of color. Fantastic GWP. Only quibble is Frodo and Sam should have had new torso prints to match how they looked in Mordor. Bring on more Lord of the Rings sets, especially Minas Tirith!

Worthy evil counterpart to Rivendell

This set is truly a sight to behold. I expected it to be tall but when I walked into the LEGO store, I was shocked at how big it was in person. I’m glad it was open on the back so it could actually fit on my shelf, and closing it off on the back would have added hundreds of dollars to an already expensive set. The figures, for the most part are great! New molds for Sauron, the mouth, and a great helmet 8 pack. The Frodo and Sam figures really should have had some wear and tear detail like the movie though. They could have included a few more orc figs to have a bigger army as well. Here’s hoping they make smaller sets in the future for more people to enjoy!
