Build me an army worthy of Mordor

One of the best sets I’ve build in a while. A lot of fun little interactions involving the tower. I wish Lego would add more lighting to big projects like this because that light doesn’t do justice for big fire eye in the sky. I feel like Sauron could have been better with a bigger or taller size but I’m just glad we finally got one. Can’t wait to see the next set of the LotR.
I would recommend this to a friend!

After building Rivendell, I was really hoping that this set was in the works and I’m so glad it was made! This thing demands your attention and is structurally very stable. The light brick is a good idea but I decided a light kit was necessary. The interior is fun and full of great easter eggs. I’m surprised nobody on YouTube has pointed out that the green drink in the dining hall is grog.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love the LOR sets and this is probably my favorite. Love how the dark and light colors blend together and it was a lot of fun to build.
But it is a slog to build such a large black, brown and gray tower. I really like the way it turned out. It looks amazing. I'll most likely be buying more brightly colored sets for a while. Going from Rivendell to this was very jarring.
I really enjoyed building this set! It took a long time and kept me occupied for a while. Very detailed and intricate design. The minifigures are unmatched, easily my favorite set i’ve ever built so far. however i was missing a piece, wasn't a super important piece but still for the price i shouldn’t be missing anything.
Multiple missing pieces and months-long wait for replacements made this a complete disappointment. For the price, QA needs to be ramped up on pieces missing. Also- the manual was confusing with various shades of brown and gray not matching the print colors and it often being confusing to determine what of the 3 browns or grays you were using if there wasn't a lighter or darker colored piece next to it to compare. Others look awesome, but there was no joy in this build.
