I've built many sets in my life but nothing compares to this one. It was by FAR the most difficult. I was about 7 hours into it when I realized I had made a critical error in the very beginning. Had to take it completely apart and restart. Guess that means I got my money's worth since I had to essentially do it twice 🥴 but it was definitely fun and looks AMAZING next to all my other sets!

Absolutely awesome set, loved everything but two small details. First, Sauron’s helmet feel fragile despite being rubber, that’s not legos fault though, and second, the light is two red, should’ve been white or orange, maybe even yellow. These are so small and ignorable though that I honestly don’t care too much. This is my new favorite set I have!
I have zero complaints on the build, how sturdy it is, how fun it was and how amazing it looks on display. However, I have unlimited amounts of complaints about to booklets. I'm noticing with more and more recent sets that the spine of the book conceals way too much. Just shift the image over by one inch and problem solved. It feels lazy and it's frustrating to not be able to read or see without damaging your booklets. I tried sharing images of it but this website is not letting that happen. Fix yourselves lego.

Building Barad-Dûr was an unforgettable experience. After completing Rivendell, I knew I had to add Barad-Dûr to my collection. The addition of a light kit truly brought the set to life, enhancing its already stunning design. LEGO should be incredibly proud of both Rivendell and Barad-Dûr—I can’t imagine anything ever surpassing these two masterpieces.
Barad-dûr is simply amazing. The minifigures, architecture, book and movie references, new molds, and level of detail more than justify the (undeniably high) price tag. It’s just great to get another Middle-Earth masterpiece and can’t wait for Bag End and the Gandalf vs. Balrog book nook to come out. That being said, I was quite disappointed to discover the damage done to this set’s reviews by disgruntled first-day-buyers who failed to get the Fell Beast GWP. While this is certainly an understandable grievance, the absence (or presence) of a GWP holds no bearing over the quality of a set itself. A GWP shouldn’t influence reviews like it most regrettably has for this set. This lego realization of Sauron’s second and third age fortress deserves no less than five golden stars. I mean come on, nearly every minifigure has leg printing - in and of itself a rare occurrence in these price-cutting times. Lego even included Gothmog; an orc who’s never seen near the Dark Tower in the movie. They held back on nothing. Buying this set gets you an orc garrison, an amazing rendering of the Mouth of Sauron with an all new helm mold, Gothmog, Frodo and Sam, Sauron (a minifigure that speaks for itself), and Gollum. You get plenty of weapons, provisions, and chambers encased in the detailed, menacing, and intricate walls of Lugburz. Do yourself a favor and buy Barad-dûr. Do the rest of us Lord of the Rings fans and yourself a favor and leave a five star review. Goodness knows this set earns it.
I am a huge LOTR fan and this is my 1st lego set. I loved putting it together and the only small gripe i have is stickers. lego is wealthy enough they should just have the pieces printed on. cant wait for other LOTR sets!

This icons barad dur is a must to any Lord of the Rings enthusiast with an ample display area. This set is going to end up being bigger than you think, so make sure you have plenty of room. Also, due to its height/width/depth ratio, if you have young children there is the possibility of them tipping it over due to its height. Depending on your skill level and dedication, this set can be a bit of a challenge to build, but that is part of the fun with experimenting with different LEGO techniques. I completed this build and significantly underestimated its stability and weight…upon trying to move it to its display location, it tipped and crashed to the floor in inglorious fashion whilst I will admit.. I shed a tear. A few hours later after painstakingly reconstructing, it was back to display status. I say all that to say this, when moving the build, you may want to take off the top section at minimum as its stability isn’t the best. If you are on the fence about the price to value ratio, this set is worth the hefty price due to its display presence.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent product from Lego once again! Great build experience and overall wonderful set. I don’t understand why people write bad reviews because they didn’t order the set to receive the gift with purchase in time or the shipping box was damaged. That’s not Lego’s fault or an indictment of this set.
