Wish it was all black

My only complaint is the light grey "scar" that cuts across the facade. It detracts from how large and imposing the tower is. Dark grey might have been better, but all-black would have been best. I'll be ordering dark grey pieces to see if it looks better, or modifying it with all black. It's really a bummer too, as without the "scar" it would be a truly magnificent piece.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Missing pieces

The packaging was great but that's so far the only thing thats good. I am barely on the 3rd bag and I'm already missing pieces and I can't even place them as missing because you need to know the number for the pieces and they don't even have them listed in the booklets. Not only that I bought this the first day it dropped and it was advertised that you get a free fell beast set and I didn't receive one. Horrible advertising I was so happy about that since they're sold out and then i didn't get anything but missing pieces. And this is my first build I buy online too. And now I don't know if I want to purchase more.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not the best set, but I needed the minifigures

This set isn't movie accurate. The "lava" around the sides looks weird. The interior doesn't make any sense. However, the minifigures are amazing. I thought about buying them on the secondary market, but they were so expensive that I decided to buy the whole set instead. That being said, this set is still really cool, and I'm happy that Lego is making more LOTR sets.

Specifically ordered early for the Nazgûl promotion only to find out they made so few the promotion lasted half a day instead of multiple days. Nothing on their website said the promotion had ended. Very poor form Lego! Terrible way to treat your customers.

Disappointed

I love this set do not get that twisted, but the underhanded way in which it was sold was unacceptable. A set was offered as a gift with its purchase and somehow this gift was out of stock the first day of its release. Of course, you know this gift was supposed to be available the entire week so I purchased the set to receive both the set and the gift only the second day. I did not receive the gift and was offered nothing but apologies. This marketing tactic is despicable and I have never been more disappointed in Lego before. Despite higher prices I have understood the quality of sets has gone up and purchase sets sparingly as I come up with the money. This purchase set me back when I could have simply waited as without the gift I would not have purchased the set yet. This makes me terribly sad as I have supported Lego throughout my life and to see this kind of behavior is despicable.

Horrible quality assurance

My experience with this set has been atrocious. I am now submitting for the 3rd time to have missing pieces sent to me. Initially a whole set of bags was missing. Upon receiving the missing bag, I found that pieces were missing from the set. Upon receiving the missing pieces, I wasn’t given all the pieces I required. Keep in mind they don’t do express shipping, so it’s been 1.5 months now and I’m getting nowhere near finishing. It’s been a frustrating experience and there seems to be no accountability.

I pre-ordered this set on day one because I wanted the Fell Beast. I didn't get the Fell Beast GWP.

Another poorly designed Lego set

Instead of building the sides into the build let’s have your stretch them till the snap in or fly all over the place
Lego hire better designers course the ones you have now aren’t worth the money your paying them
