I love this set do not get that twisted, but the underhanded way in which it was sold was unacceptable. A set was offered as a gift with its purchase and somehow this gift was out of stock the first day of its release. Of course, you know this gift was supposed to be available the entire week so I purchased the set to receive both the set and the gift only the second day. I did not receive the gift and was offered nothing but apologies. This marketing tactic is despicable and I have never been more disappointed in Lego before. Despite higher prices I have understood the quality of sets has gone up and purchase sets sparingly as I come up with the money. This purchase set me back when I could have simply waited as without the gift I would not have purchased the set yet. This makes me terribly sad as I have supported Lego throughout my life and to see this kind of behavior is despicable.

Horrible quality assurance

My experience with this set has been atrocious. I am now submitting for the 3rd time to have missing pieces sent to me. Initially a whole set of bags was missing. Upon receiving the missing bag, I found that pieces were missing from the set. Upon receiving the missing pieces, I wasn’t given all the pieces I required. Keep in mind they don’t do express shipping, so it’s been 1.5 months now and I’m getting nowhere near finishing. It’s been a frustrating experience and there seems to be no accountability.

Cool set but...

I pre-ordered this set on day one because I wanted the Fell Beast. I didn't get the Fell Beast GWP.

Worst LOTR Set

From its inception I was very excited to get my hands on this set and build it. Being a big fan of the Rivendell set I was surely expecting this set to live up to the hype. Unfortunately, like many other reviews this set was merely a cash grab by Lego. Poorly designed and put together. Many pieces missing from the set especially bag 8, unacceptable at the high price tag. The design is very poor and looks similar to the avatar air bender sets from a decade ago, having no personality or playability. The tower has many pieces that breaks off easily making it hard to adjust when moving minifigures around or rearranging props around the set. I expected better from Lego and will be looking out for a refund for such a disappointing build.

Missing pieces again

I don’t know what is going on at Lego command but more and more sets are missing pieces and more and more reviews are about missing pieces. Please Lego fix this issue. When we are spending this kind of money for these sets we don’t want to wait weeks for Lego to send us more pieces because they dropped the ball the first time.

Excellent Set

I waited for a long time for this set and it has been nothing but amazing so far. The way the set is designed is phenomenal along with the Easter eggs included in the instruction books. I will continue to enjoy this set as I slowly build it since it's so massive!
One small gripe I have is that the boxed components inside were put on top of the loose components for odd weight distribution and that I missed a few parts, although they were relatively minor and barely noticable unless you looked for them.
Overall a very phenomenal set!
I would recommend this to a friend!
