The Ultimate Lord of The Rings Set

This set has got to be one of the greatest sets that I have ever seen/own. Since the beginning of the Lord of The Rings line way back in 2012, I have always wanted this set to be made, especially to accompany Orthanc and the recently released Rivendell. And let me just say, this set did not disappoint. From the exquisite use of building techniques emulating source lighting to the build for the great eye itself, I’m blown away by this towering set. And let’s not forget the figure selection. While I do wish it had more figures, such as The Witch King of Angmar and Isildur to recreate the iconic ending of The Second Age of Middle Earth, the inclusion of The Mouth of Sauron, Gothmog, and the long awaited dark lord himself, among many others, is simply awesome. I would gladly recommend this set to both Lego and Middle Earth fans alike.

My favorite set of all time!!!!

Barad Dur was one of my favorite builds to do. I never got bored and seeing the final project was so satisfying. The set has so many amazing Easter eggs and so playable and displayable. I got lucky to also get the feelbeast with it. The fell east is also such an incredible build and displaying it on barad dur is so epic. If you are thinking about getting this set, do it, you won’t be disappointed!!

Great model, but poorly lit

Everything about this model is great: the look, the construction, the details. But as you stack up the layers, all the fun details of the interior are lost in shadow. It really needed some kind of lighting element.

Barad dur is one of the most imposing things from Middle Earth. The lego team managed to recreate it perfectly in this build. It has a lot of smart part usages to make things look texturized on the outside of the tower. The Eye itself looks amazing in lego form and again looks perfect.
It has plenty of great Easter eggs as wells and funny things you can put together on the inside! You get Gothmog, the general from the battle of Pelenor Fields as well as 4 generic orcs that you can make many scenes with
The only reason I gave the building process a 4/5 was due to some parts being a bit repetitive. But that's no fault the designers, that's just how a build like this would have to work to make it look as perfect as it does.
I have this displayed next to my Rivendell and it more than twice it's height and looks fantastic on my shelf!

Fantastic set. Lots of nostalgia and an awesome way to do justice to a build of the tower of Barad-dur. Great build, excellent minfigures and a few fun moveable/play features for the cherry on top. Definitely would recommend if its in the budget.

Peak Lego Lord of the Rings once again. I just finished building this set and wow. Seeing it in person is a whole different experience. It really demands one's attention, with its striking color scheme, impressive size and the simple iconicity of the tower it is based on. I love this set so much, and I can't wait to see what's next.
