I was super excited when I saw this set get announced, and I bought it as soon as I could. I am a huge fan of X-men, having watched the movies and cartoons, even owning some of the comics. I love the amount of detail in the set, and building the set was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had building Legos. Reading some of the other reviews, I know some complained about putting the stickers on, but I think that just makes the set more enjoyable it even comes with extra stickers, which I find nice. I do really like this set, but I do wish I came with Beast rather than Iceman, as he isn't in the cartoons or movies as often.

Enjoyable build, little pricy compared and could use some more figs for price but overall great
As many have stated before me, this is an extremely small set. My fears were initiated when I saw the three mini-base plates, and was further confirmed when I finished the first book. The exterior looks good. The Sentinel is an excellent model. The interior is horrible. It is way too small.
As usual with Lego these days, they take a 24(?) stud length base and the house uses about 1/2 of that length. The rest is the front yard and 4 studs in the back, because....why? This is a practice they have been using with the modular buildings for years now and it is frustrating in it's lack of optimizing the space.
So, while the Danger Room is two stories, the interior space is roughly 7 x 7, where with better use of the space provided could have easily expanded to 10 x 10 or larger.
The Easter eggs are neat, and there are some new building techniques that I'll use on my MOC's, but the experience of this build is generally not fun.
There were some interesting building techniques throughout the set but overall it was brought down by the fact that each room feels too small and the use of space outside is not great. furthermore, the constant use of stickers takes away from a set that already has issues and makes it feel like you have to stop every few minutes during the build to carefully apply the stickers. The mini figures were somewhat interesting in that Gambit, Iceman, and Bishop are all original and unique to this set but the remaining Minifigures are not unique and are the exact same or downgrades from other previous cheaper sets or CMF. Overall while the build has interesting sections, the mansion itself is pretty plain and uses some very common pieces in normal colors. The use of common and already readily available pieces makes you question the price and what it is exactly you are paying this high price for.
The price is extremely high for a set that is surprisingly small, it only has 3 truly unique minifigures out of 10, and the overall build of the mansion is ok, slowed by constant stickers, and with various small often unusable rooms.
I was excited about the set when I bought it but the above mentioned problems combined with a few missing pieces brought the overall grade down for me and made me question the value for the price.
Got this as a Christmas gift for my son I can’t wait till we get to build this thing it looks like a lot of fun and I am excited to get all the figures included. We lucked out and got the Cerebro GWP that will also be given at Christmas. Really excited for these as I have loved X-men since I was a young child and I got a random X-men comic as my first ever comic book.

Great idea, liked a lot about the set, but way too small, and overpriced. Lost opportunity on mini figs as well. Didn’t need repeat cyclops, rogue, and Wolverine. We are missing jubilee, sunspot, morph, cable, nightcrawler, etc.
I love how the sides connect and I love all the building techniques used in the set and I love the minifigures

Overpriced for the content and quality

Too expensive, even when compared with other Disney IP sets like Daily Bugle or Avengers Tower. Should have more minifigs, and the included minifigs should be better quality - the not-opaque-enough printing of faces, torsos, and legs has been going on for too long already, but is particularly offensive in these large, expensive, collector-targeted sets.
