I really like this set. Great minifigs and the Sentinel is awesome. Tons of easter eggs in the build. I do wish that it was a bit bigger. It doesn't feel like a real mansion next to other modular buildings due to its size. It also needed a Jubilee minifig.

I got this set because I have always been a huge fan of the X-Men. Let me tell you it did not disappoint me. While the build could be slightly complex at times, it kept my attention and I had a very fun experience. The minifigures are a lot of fun and they show off the characters various powers well. I highly recommend this set for Marvel fans and for fans who like challenging builds.

This X-mansion is an X-JOKE!

I was beyond excited when this set was announced as x-men were a huge part of my childhood. Well my excitement diminished quickly when the set arrived and upon picking it up I couldn’t help but notice how light it was. Upon building the set I noticed that the rooms within the mansion are so small that 1 minifigure barely fits in each room and considering it only has 5 rooms total, several of the x-men are gonna be homeless if this is where they are living. This is not the X-mansion, where are the underground levels? Where are all of the dorm rooms? What is there is a bunch of rooms jammed into 1 room, cerebro is a flip out screen that blocks a doorway, the sentinel is a weak attempt and for some reason the basketball hoop is next to the dumpsters, I very much remember the mansion having basketball courts and professors X’s hover chair doesn’t even fit inside. A few years ago someone submitted an xmansion to Lego ideas and it was phenomenal the amount of detail this person put into it, this set is a sad attempt and not to mention they clearly stole the idea . Save your money
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I usually only get Marvel for daughter. But since daily Bugle came out started getting some lol. I only had the small Sanctum and once largest came out wasn’t upgrading. Seeing the mansion next to my small sanctum makes me happy lol. This was a fun build stickers and all. Haven’t decided how I’m going to set this up yet but here it is.

What About Cerebro?

Yeah, it was advertised that we'd get cerebro with the set and somehow the company that makes the set ran out? I'll look elsewhere if this how you want to conduct business.

The overall build experience for this set is good. When building the left wing "book 2", my only critique is that the instructions only gave us the option to build the wall as damaged, but wished it also showed us how to build the wall as complete instead of referencing book three for the right wing.
Another issue I had with this set is that while assembling the pieces in 3, I had two missing grill pieces for the lawn I had to scavenge from Logan's bike. thank goodness we can order missing / broken parts.
Except for these two minor issues, my last gripe I have is like with the Daily Bugle, Avenger's tower and the Sanctum, we are given 1 X 1 stud bricks for the clear pieces the figures stand on to jump, fly etc. my only gripe is that regular stud bricks were added for those who wanted a realistic look instead of having a battle scene. While some of the bikes can be covered up, others can't, sticking out.
Except for these three issues, the set, having 24 bags "advent calendar" for Christmas" is a gift / set any X-men, Marvel and lego builder would enjoy and add to their lego city / modular city.
