My children have really like coming up with their own flavors and mix ins. It works pretty quickly to make icecream looking forward to trying it out to make other desserts and slushies.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took me a few tries to finally master it but I enjoyed it. I made an almond ice cream. I was able to make two cones for my valet attendant and one for my front desk at my condo and also myself. Such a fun and great party idea.

Too many steps!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The theme with this product is too many steps... there's too many steps to set this up, to make the ice cream, and to clean the machine afterwards. With that said, if you use it and you wait patiently for the ice cream you can eat a freshly made dessert that tastes amazing! I would not personally go out of my way to buy one of these, but if I were receiving it as a gift I would love it and actually use it... because I have it. Overall it does a good job and it's fin to use and experiment with! I'm super happy with it!

Lots of work for an occasional thing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoyed using the Mix it in Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker by Cuisinart ICE-48 but it was a lot of work for something that I would only enjoy occasionally. The recipe for the vanilla soft serve was good (I put half as much more vanilla into it, as a preference) but it needed refrigeration after the machine blended (otherwise, the ice cream was too runny). I like that the add-ons (I used sprinkles and mini mm's) dispensed periodically so it would mix in properly and the chocolate topping was kept nice and warm in the cup. I think I would find more utility for it if I were an avid soft serve consumer but, as it is, I just find it cumbersome to use and take up valuable counter space. It's one of those contraptions you keep in the back of the closet and use once a year, if that. Last note, the compartments and lids for the add-ons/mix-ins are super loose and aren't tied down, they just stay in their slots if properly placed.

Cuisinart soft serve ice cream maker works very well. Easy to make and easy to store in freezer and dish out later. Frozen yogurt with little cream and milk does not serve up well later after storing left overs in the freezer. Also, recommendations are needed on what yogurt ought to be used. Frozen yogurt tasted tart, which is not very good when compared to ice cream.

Lots of fun to make soft ice cream but there is a learning curve to how rich you want your ice cream. Tried the given recipe for chocolate and it turned out way too heavy and rich. Will modify the recipe until I get it just right for me by decreasing the heavy cream or blending with whole milk. No matter what, it’s a blast to use. Love the hidden cone holder. Nice touch!
