I made ice cream for the 4th of July in my new ice cream maker. My grandsons and I had a great time with it. I did freeze the bowl for several days before using the machine. However I did not chill the milk mixture and it turned out great. We had fun adding miniature M&Ms and mini chocolate chips to our cones. Very easy to assemble and disassemble and clean. I’m going to buy one for a son for Christmas.

Problem: Ice cream is not dispensing.
Solution:
• Correct consistency is key to dispensing. Begin checking consistency at least 5 minutes before specified
finish time.
• Once ice cream gets too thick, it will not be able to be dispensed. Should this happen, simply scoop ice cream
right from the ice cream bowl.
• When checking to see if consistency is correct for dispensing, test by dispensing once base starts getting thick.
If base is too soft or liquid, simply pour it back into the mix.
• Once ice cream does get to correct consistency, continue to dispense cups or cones until ice cream is
completely dispensed.

Received the ICE-48 as a Fathers Day Gift. I have used it several times with different recipes and it works well. The only flaw I see is that when the soft serve is truly ready, the machine has a hard time pushing it out of the chute consistently.

This is just ok. This is my 2nd time using it. The ice cream does not come out through the server. I have not used the topping dispenser. I thought the ice cream recipe tasted better than the original cuisinart ice cream maker I have but I couldn’t find a variety of different flavors.

Typical well made Cuisinart quality. The only I'm not fond of is having to freeze the internal bowl for several hours in the freezer. Since the unit has no freezing mechanism, the frozen bowl has to provide all the cooling. Secondly once you make the mixture yo have to refrigerate is as well for a few hours. Nice unit, but you need to be OK with a one batch per day and done

The recipes are great and instructions are easy to follow. Ice- cream is delicious and freezes well. Mix-in option so-so; i didn’t try sprinkles - but they’d probably work well. East to clean. The main complaint I have is how much ice-cream is left on the paddle and inside the drum after it stops dispensing. I spend more time getting ice cream out of the machine after it’s done because it’s just too much to waste.
