Happy with this purchase, especially the steamer as it’s not made of plastic. Highly recommended if you do steaming quite often and it’s just, fill up the cooker with water, put on the steaming rack , switch the cooker on and your done..

I was really excited to get a rice cooker and after doing some research, I opted for this brand and this size since I'm only one person. The rice never comes out right, it doesn't keep rice warm (there are other models that do this), and it generally doesn't cook other grains well at other (e.g. oatmeal). Rice and other grains either come out too hard or too soft and if too soft, there is a mess all over I am also disappointed that it cannot be returned.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are so sorry to hear about your experience with this rice cooker. Unfortunately, the smallest model NHS-06 does not include a keep warm feature. Since it doesn't have a sealed lid and the size is small, the rice would get dry very quickly and so the keep warm feature wasn't included with it. Now, the NHS rice cooker is designed to cook white and brown rice. It is a basic model that only heats up and once it reaches a certain temperature it will turn off. For consistent results in this model, we strongly suggest to always rinse the rice to get rid of the excess starch, measure the rice with the cup included, use the water measuring lines in the pan to measure out the right amount of water for the rice, and soak the rice before pressing the cook button. Following all these steps will ensure that the rice is cooked perfectly every time. This is my first Rice Cooker and I like it. It took me couple tries to learn how to use it properly. I have to put less water because if I don't the rice will become too mushy and yes I'm using the measurement cup it gives for the rice. I'm using tamaki gold rice.

Hi there! We are sorry to hear that the size was a bit confusing. The sizes are listed by the max amount of white rice each size is able to cook. The small rice cooker can cook up to 3 cups of white rice which will usually roughly doubles in volume once cooked.
