I was given a Zojirushi rice cooker 28 years ago at my wedding shower. I was bummed when it finally crapped out and tried a different brand as a replacement and it was terrible. I found the exact same style of Zojirushi but with a modern facelift and it is perfect. All I need is the little click if that button and I know my rice is going to be perfect. I look forward to another 28+ years with this one. It's a simple, sturdy and reliable design that is so hard to come by in kitchen appliances, and I am glad this type of cooker is still available today. Thanks for not discontinuing.

Just recently replaced my rice cooker with the same 6-cup model. So happy Zojirushi still have the conventional rice cooker/steamer with the glass lid, steam tray, rice cup, and rice scoop. Received many compliments on it, too. Can literally cook a whole meal in one setting. It’s practical and very high quality!

Rice cooker is easy to use and clean and has made my rice perfectly every time. So far, I've only tried it with the Kokuho New Variety rice, but I imagine it works for everything. 10/10 would recommend.

So disappointed. I got this for my husband last Christmas. He loves rice! We have the Zojirushi mugs and love them so we thought this rice cooker was a no brainer. I don't know if ours is defective or what, but it spews sticky, starchy water out of the hole in the lid and all over our counter! I read on their website to make sure and wash the rice beforehand, and we have washed rice, soaked rice, rinsed and rinsed again. It doesn't matter. The cooker still spews everywhere! Also, the instructions say to let it sit on Keep Warm for 15 minutes once it finishes cooking, but when we did this, the rice turned out very dry. So now we put paper towels down when we cook it and unplug it as soon as it is done.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We appreciate you sharing your experience with our rice cooker. We are sorry to hear that you have experienced some difficulties while using it. Most often with the NHS model rice cooker, spewing can be experienced if there is excess starch, the rice is not soaked before cooking, the water lines are not followed or if a part on the lid is missing. Since you have shared that you are rinsing the rice well and are soaking the rice, we can discount the first two as the cause. We recommend checking the lid to see if a little rubber ring is in the steam vent and to ensure the measuring cup is being used to measure the rice and the corresponding water lines in the pan are being followed. This rice cooker is wonderful. We like how fast it cooks the rice and how light and fluffy the rice turns out. It’s easy to prepare the rice and cooks without having to monitor it, which frees you up to make other portions of the meal.
