Works well, we wanted a basic rice cooker that also can be used as a steamer. The steam does spout everywhere, but read a tip to cover the whole with the rice spoon.

We are so happy to hear that this rice cooker fit your needs. As for the steam issue, this can happen if there is too much excess starch in the rice, or too much water has been added. First, we recommend rinsing the rice really well to make sure all the excess starch is removed. The water should run somewhat clear. Then be sure to follow the water lines in the pan corresponding to the number of cups of rice you are cooking. This is our second rice cooker of the same type. We love it! Never a care, never a concern…. It just makes the rice while we are making the rest of the dinner. Every kind of rice is perfect. The warning about cancer causing agents in this product are about the styrofoam in the packing, nothing else, so don’t worry. I am completely happy with this product. We have rice about three times per week, if that helps.
