Schedule D difficulty

Overall it was a good experience. Had considerable trouble with Schedule D & Form 8949. It seems some of the original entries were getting overwritten. Finally got it to work, but required a lot of unnecessary time to get it finalized.

TT Business is not a user friendly program

It took me three hours to download TT Business without the disc. I had to update Windows and all kinds of stuff. Quite frustrating. Then when I went to transmit returns. It was insisting that do to an option I made that another form needed filled out. TT needed to fill out this form, not me. And the balance sheet was out of balance (which I'm not required to file because my business is worth less than one million dollars) so I had to manipulate figures on that form. Again, TT should do this.

Some of your questions are confusing. I am a college graduate and actually had to go back and completely redo my taxes to get rid of your program telling me I needed a form that I did NOT need. I think your initial question about wages paid to officers vs employees was misleading. The officer IS an employee, and your program did not make the designation clear.

Current requirement to download Turbo Tax is lousy. I spent several hours trying to download the purchased version and then wasted more hours trying to connect to Turbo Tax for updates. If I had not already paid for the Business and Personal Turbo Tax. I would have looked at other options. I have used Turbo Tax for Business and personal for 15-20 years. Very disappointed in the 2024 Version. Had breakfast this morning with another CPA user and he had the same issues.
