Disappointing this year. Entering and processing returns went OK but the app just would NOT e-file. Had to send paper copies.

Good, with one frustrating program flaw

Flaw in PC Desktop Fiduciary return. Foreign dividends earned from RIC and the Foreign Tax paid reported from 1099 auto-populate into Column B of form 1116. TT looks for entries in Column A, and will not allow E-File of Federal Return until the entries are manually reassigned to column A. A simple flaw that cost me a couple of hours to troubleshoot and fix.

Grantor trusts earnings on a 1041.

Turbo Tax is great! However, it took way too much time to research how to report interest earned under a grantor trust so that it will flow through to our regular personal tax account without being it being taxed under the trust account.
I finally found a link to Turbo Tax support and it listed how to use an attachment, such as the ficidiary info worksheet to list the interest earned. I don't recall having to do that on the 1041 in previous years.

Turbo tax is a decent program

Have used the program several years. its a decent program
They still need to implement a way to add statement that IRS requires without having to use the online version

Excellent Software

It was a whole lot easier this year. For some reason, in previous years, it kept reporting that it calculated my assets as $0. I had to go back several times and re-entered the same numbers before it accurately reported my assets. This year, everything went smoothly.

This is not good. The federal works okay. The AZ state setup is a mess. A lot of manual work to get it to go through. Luckily I'm a CPA and know exactly how the forms should look but to the average user, this would be tough. I'd be better off doing the state on paper.
