Works great but could be better...

Turbotax business desktop is a great tool that provides the needed structure to file my business taxes every year. Overall, they have done a pretty good job at explaining things and making it easy. However, they have gotten lazy in some areas and just show a form with no explanation on what is required in an area, requiring a Google search as well as a ChatGPT conversation to complete.

Frustrating

Was caught in loop on form 1065. The 5 members of the LLC are all personal trusts. Until I designated them as individuals, T Tax would not E-File. I had no way to test if this would work without pressing the red File Tax button. Every time that I tried to log in at the help community, it took me to the Turbo Tax products screens, with no access to help. I "solved" this T Tax problem with Windows Explorer AI. I've been using T Tax since the 1970s, I'm disappointed.

Turbotax did the job with a couple of Problems

Turbotax Business did a good job of most things. However it left me high and dry on two items. The first was distributing the UBIA to the partners. Turbotax gave an error but no clue to the problem, The second was the Form 8283 that was not populated by Turbotax. It only gave me a error when I tried to e-file. There was no help or instructions for the form.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Issue with Form 1116 Foreign Tax Credit
on February 20, 2025

Having issue with form 1116 foreign tax credit, under dividend income. Under report foreign dividends you enter the amount received. Then you must select from either Mutual Fund/RIC or other. My income comes from a stock position so I click other. I then input the country on the next page. TurboTax will populate form 1116 in column B. When checking the return I get an error on form 1116 Column A due to no input. I manually input column A with the country name then have to re-enter the gross amount. This is rather odd. I went back and just used RIC input. I'm not sure this is correct.
