Not so good this year

It did not load from Quickbooks Pro 24 like it has in previous years. I manually entered the data.
It needs to offer more reading assistance when answering some of the questions (QBI, Basis, Credits).

Colorado instructions are wrong
on February 19, 2025
Posted by: M997
Colorado mailing instructions are wrong. Instructions say to sign, date and mail DR 0106 to CO IRS at 80261-0005 AND to sign and date 1706 and mail it plus the 0106Ks to CO IRS at 80261-0006.
But there is no signature line on the 1706 and the 1706 says to mail to ...80261-0005

It's ok...

Turbo Tax for business is ok. I've been using it for years so don't really want to change.
Pros: Keeps most of your info from previous years. Also keeps forms up to date. Allows you to do several different entities.
Cons: Doesn't do real well with changes in the tax code. The help gives you answers that apply to both personal and corporate tax situations. Always wants to update before you can do anything. For some reason doesn't remember my state number. Also it's difficult to purchase the desktop version, I like to keep my cloud at home.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Have used this for our business for many years. It makes it manageable. Wouldn't even want to think about trying to do it by hand.

First time filing for Trust was surprisingly easy

TurboTax Business was surprisingly easy to use as Trustee. I would have liked if I could have signed into Baird like I do for my own taxes rather than entering items from the boxes, but still, it was good.

Could use improvement

Help seems to be missing from the more complex subjects. I expect more than just to be referred to the IRS Form instructions (otherwise, what's the point here, just up-selling me professional help). TaxAct seems to have better embedded help.
Last year I used TaxAct, this year I thought to try TurboTax Business. I may go back to TaxAct for 2025
Consumer product (Deluxe, Premier, etc) allow itemization of costs to be entered in a simple form that opens, and does the math accordingly. It let's you indefinitely add items and their value, which gets summed automatically (e.g., for adding up expenses). That feature is missing here.
