I wish they would update this software

It would be nice if I could attach supporting document such as brokerage statements so that i could submit electronically.
There are problems with the program, if one selects a drop down box for a form and if one decides to remove it, the form remembers and it is included in taxes, it does not get backed out of the tax return. Pretty funky.
When entering dates for short and long sales it is often necessary to use "Various" which is exceptable for IRS. But it creates an error in the program

A sad shell of its former self

This program has turned into a real stinker. It's constantly trying to upsell me for product enhancements that are irrelevant and unnecessary to my needs. The interface is clunky and good luck trying to do simple tasks (such as print out your state tax return for mailing). This used to be a great tool and now it's an onerous burden. TurboTax and Intuit need to quit spending millions (probably billions) by now lobbying Congress to make citizens' and corporate taxes difficult and expensive.

Taxes are not fun. But Turbo tax makes possible. I am very happy with the software!

TurboTax Business needs broker transaction import
on April 4, 2026

TurboTax Business needs the same brokerage transaction import functionality that normal TurboTax provides. I very much dislike having to enter each mutual fund and stock transaction manually into TurboTax for Business, instead of just importing them all at once like I can do using normal TurboTax

Helpful, but not completely

I was not able to file electronically because of missing beneficiary address information even though we did not make any distributions to any beneficiary this year. Seems like I should have been able to file the trust taxes without this information since we did not issue any K-1s.

We’re glad you chose us, but sorry to hear the process wasn’t as seamless as it should have been. Your insights are being shared with our team so we can fix these friction points for the future.

Disappointed

The interview does not walk you through what you may need; it expects you to know what you need. It actually asked, "Do you need to add any forms?". I expect TT to help me with that! The Topic List is very high level (just Federal and State), so if you have to go back to anything, you basically have to start over and walk through the whole return.

Book/Tax Depreciation
on April 4, 2026

My return has a different depreciation for book verses return. Every time that the return is saved and then reopened, Turbotax sets tax depreciation equal to book depreciation. It is maddening!

Turbo Tax works well as a DIY option

I think it is misleading to say that TurboTax is free and then requires Deluxe for complexity and then whatever the next level was for capital losses. Not inherently wrong, but misleading.
If I had been willing to start this processs at $149 it is not reassuring to tell you I now have to pay $179. Also, I sent a man to Staples to purchase the Business version of TurboTax and he gleefully returned with Home and Business -no estate
