Very Buggy

The software had bugs and wouldn't allow me to update expense totals that I needed without duplicating lines and amounts. It also wouldn't update totals in the other deductions section.

TT Business: the forgotten stepchild
on April 3, 2026

TT Business seems to be the forgotten stepchild, yet it costs more. For my Trust return, I couldn't download 1099s or file my state electronically. It also didn't explain what many forms were, instead simply asking me if i needed to add them. I had to look them up myself. while I am happy with the regular TT, TT Business is not very good.

Easy to Use but More Limited than Premier

I used TurboTax Business for a family Trust filing, and it works well. The software is more extensive than I need for a simple Trust filing, so I wish there was a cheaper option just for Trusts. I'd also wish TurboTax Business could allow import of financial info from my Investment Firm. You need to hunt for the Estimated Tax calc for the current tax year since TT fills in info without asking you. Also, Business did not come with state filing software (Utah) so I had to complete the state filing manually.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Terrible company service

Software system has a glitch and would not allow me to purchase state filing. It was nearly impossible to get a person on the phone, let alone a knowledgeable person to help me. Wasted over 5 hours being sent in circles before someone finally knew what to do.

1099 Imports?
on April 3, 2026

Please allow us to import our 1099 Composite from investors (in my case, Schwab). Having to manually put all this information in is extremely time consuming and prone to errors. Why can I do this import for my personal taxes but now for the Trust taxes I also have to file
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I bought or sold investments

Accuracy: not sure. Compatibility: ok. Features: As usual. Interface: step down every year, worst this year. Support: the worst.

Way Better Than Trying To Figure It Out On My Own!
on April 3, 2026

It was pretty good. The one trouble I had is that it kept telling me that my K-1's were not ready and that I needed to go fill in the shareholder information, but it was all there. (And if it wasn't, it should have given me an error!) I had to go to the specific page in "forms" and print it. Also, I had to buy the separate CA 541 Fiduciary return package and the instructions for what it was asking for were really limited. I guessed my whole way through it.

Blocks features

It is an abomination that you do not allow Excel or tab formatted upload of data. I assume you are just screwing everyone who doesn't use Quickbooks, even though it is not useful for most of us. This is a trivial feature and its omission is a conscious anti-customer choice. Making someone manually enter dozens of members in an LLC is cruelty and just induces errors.
