Been using Turbo Tax for 20+ years. Tried the competitor's product but it was not as user friendly as Turbo Tax.

Frustrating and feeling trapped

Turbo Tax-- took me over an hour to download to my desktop after I already paid with assistance from customer support. It seems you can't switch to the app if you've been using the desktop version previously (you can but you need to hand enter all the information again). I'll guessing they will stop supporting desktop versions soon and I'll need to do this eventually. Once I was in the guided walk through is nowhere near as helpful for small business as it is for personal filing. I am doubting my accuracy and hoping forth best. Feeling pressured to keep using Turbo tax because there are not lot of other options especially if you Quickbooks as well. FYI Audit support is moneymaking scam, I didn't buy it this time but have used it in the past and still needed to hire my own independent accountant to represent me on a simple matter since the Quickbooks audit support person was very qualified. I ad to pay to have the mess they made cleaned up.

Taxes Made Easy

All perfect except the downloading from TurboTax site to computer. I paid for 2 sets of 5 returns and only received access to 5 returns. Something is wrong with the way you are counting and crediting returns.

Quick, Clear, but requires Care

Turbotax makes it easy to prep & file your small business taxes within 1-2 hours if you are prepared. The interface is clear & showcases what are common considerations for you to spend your time wisely.
However for areas where your business may differ from the norm (especially as you are starting out), the wording of questions or the attached guidance is often insufficient & even misleading. Detailed research is needed to view IRS publications on the topics, and Turbotax does not link to those instructions or guidance as readily as I believe it should.
In particular when working with international partners or suppliers, Turbotax offers limited guidance or help to navigate what requires the appropriate forms or documentation.
All in all, if you are starting out a small business, it does help you get 80% of the way to the average considerations you should consider. Keep in mind that the 20%, especially as your business grows, can have significant impact on your tax strategy & financial documentation.

Easy Step by Step but tech issues.

Certain things are difficult such as downloading current tax year. I have a problem every year. It is not cler or intuitive as to ow to get ths done.
I was on line with tech support and was disconnected so I went to troubleshooting and it had a simple link to fix a different issue I was having.
