TurboTax Business is expensive and confusing.

Still way too expensive for a simple trust. It also is not helpful when looking up details within the return for required information during review time. I believe TurboTax Business is an evil necessity. Every year I complain about not being able to upload the 1099 forms and detail from broker. Every year I'm still not surprised it is not available.

Dividends vs Distributions

for S-corp need to distinctly differentiate between DIVIDENDS and DISTRIBUTIONS. The question of 'was cash paid out" is ambiguous. Dividends get reported on 1099-DIV. Distributions go on K-1.

turbotax needs to improve.

getting started was painful. the download was not accessible and the option to move seamlessly from desktop to cloud is still not available. the end result is that I was charged twice and I still have not received a refund.

One glitch stood in the way of a 5-star rating

I would have given a 5-star rating except for one point: I needed to add my wife as a shareholder. I clicked the "Add Another Shareholder" button, clicked the "Not a new Shareholder" radio button, and was then forced to add my wife as a new shareholder. I tried several times with the same result. Very aggravating. Otherwise, the experience was excellent, and I will be using TurboTax for my 2026 returns.

User Friendly and Cost Effective

I have been using TT for a few years now and the software is user friendly if you know what you are doing. I still have to do manual overrides to achieve the proper presentation for my company's reporting but this is fairly easy to do once you are used to the software.
Pros: My employment status changed this year
