The bugs and desciptive omissions of TT Business

I encountered too many bugs related to inputs placed in the beneficiary distributions page. I even tried to have the agent submit them for fixing. Bottom line, using Business for estate returns was not that great. Too many bugs (that cost me a lot of time diagnosing and sharing with support), not enough pop-ups to explain the fields in general, etc.

Could be better

Unable to get the program to put gains and losses in the proper box on 8949. I input that basis was reported but 8949 shows basis not reported, and no way to override. Very frustrating. I hope Intuit reads this and fixes the problem for others. Otherwise, the program worked well and the e-filing was easy.

Annual error IL State Fiduciary Business

The issue which has popped up for years is how you are dealing with State (IL Fiduciary Business TurboTax).
When I got to the state portion, it guided me to first choose the state version I was seeking, then it lead me through paying process, then back to the main Turbo Tax to do the state. Then it downloaded IL version, it says it was all up to date, then went back to choosing to proceed with State filing and it looped me back to choosing a state, selecting IL, it repeated the downloading and all up to date message. I then tried it again choosing to proceed with state tax and it repeated that looping scenario.

I have used TurboTax for Home for 15+ years, and this was my first year using it for an LLP. I wish this version did a better job of explaining exactly HOW MUCH percentages are off, not just they are off, as well as more explanation and assistance with capital accounts. It was a tad frustrating. Overall, fairly easy to use (IF your bookkeeping is done correctly), but there was a learning curve.
