Not Perfect by Any Means

I've used TurboTax for Business for a couple of years now to do complex Trust returns. It is helpful, but not perfect by any means. Last year the TurboTax representative found that carryforward capital losses were not carried the state return, requiring an amended return. This year I had to manually ensure they were properly noted using the form entries. It's cheaper than retaining a CPA, but if it's not accurate those may be false savings.

Good and Needs Improvement

I like that it remembers data from last year. What I don't like is that the explanations and help data bases are obtuse and difficult to understand unless you are a tax expert.

Form 1041 - 1099B withheld taxes not working

Note that Form 1041 - 1099-B withheld taxes do not show up as tax payments automatically. They needed to be manually entered as tax payments in addition to entering on the 1099

Effective tool

Overall, TurboTax met my needs. Easy to use for my two-person firm. I would like to see better support for correcting errors, such as which form to use.
