Turbotax gives me issues every single year and this was no exception. A bug in the depreciation prevented me from filing for a month!

Software Errors, Unreliable, Cumbersome

Issues I encountered are with the CA LLC state software. On the Members Summary page, SSN is displayed in members name. When printing the return to mail, "there are errors in your return, continue?" is displayed, but the review function does not tell you what is in error! Creating K1 documents changes to a folder different from the one you are working in.

It Could Use Some Improvements

It was easy to use, very straightforward. If it is your first time filing, I would not recommend since it doesn't give as much detail with explaining specific forms as much as the online version does. I didn't like that I have to download it, I feel like this should have an web/browser version especially since it is only good for on year. I also feel like they should have more clarity for the State filing and it gave me 5 federal filing which I only needed one. So I don't see the value for $180, if I get 5 federal filings included but have to pay for the state separately when I only needed 1 federal and 1 state. I would have thought there would have been more variety in options for filing since not every business is the same. Although, I will say I had to call Customer Care at least three times and each time they were absolutely amazing.

Great time saver!

I've used TurboTax for both business and personal taxes for about 15 years. In terms of improvements, it would be helpful in the software could improve its ability to complete forms by prompting me. Some areas, e.g., with the K-1 forms, I had to stop and do some research before I could continue. Ideally, TurboTax could take me by the hand to clarify. Instead, I used Perplexity AI to explain things to me.

Turbotax Business for Trusts

Turbotax Business is helpful to complete Trust filing however it's also helpful if you have prior Turbotax filing experience to work through some of the questions and related forms
