Edition confusion

I purchased Turbo Tax Home & Business 2024 because I needed to file a return for a trust, which requires Turbo Tax Business edition. Then I learned that Turbo Tax Business is not the same as Turbo Tax Home & Business. I contacted Turbo Tax Help, and the representative gave me the business edition at no charge (great!). Unfortunately, he gave me a license for the Windows edition, and I use a Mac. Rather than contacting them again, I decided to complete the process on a Windows PC.

Won't interface with Quick-books.

Won't interface with Quick-books. I use quick-books online and purchased the desktop version of TurboTax Business and they don't interface. Tech support indicated I would need to either download two different software packages to save and import the data (which he could not explain how to do) or purchase either Quick Books Desktop or Turbo Tax Online. Also - software said it's using IRS standard 27.5 year depreciation period for rental real estate, but the algorithm used a 30-year period.

Great product, a few items would be nice

extensions were difficult and what if anything to mail was not completely clear. The NOL form information from the prior year also did not seem to carry over. Biggest issue however is that Turbo tax cannot directly import data from Quickbooks online which is the primary accounting system small companies utilize. That issue should be addressed by Turbo Tax in particular since the two products are under the same corporate umbrella

State Tax Return was not comprehensive

The Federal Return was not bad. Confusing but I got through it and everything was e-filed ok. The State Return was horrible. Took some information from the federal return but still a lot of confusing information I was left with. Also, the program couldn't efile the state return, even though my accountant could last year. I'm heading back to my accountant next year. It's worth $695 to have it done in 20 minutes.

Pretty good, but unable to e-file

Tried to e-file state, but got stuck in an endless loop of reviewing due to "we need more information" and could not edit anything to get the loop to stop. Ended up printing & mailing.
