Not so great for Trust returns
on April 7, 2025
Posted by: Del Mar Office

I use this version to prepare complex Trust returns. I find the step-by-step to be lacking the nice features that the individual Premium version does. Then, when I review the return, there is stray information in it, and darned if I know where it came from. I can work around it, but it's a pain to pin down. Lastly, the TT worksheet info is only as good as what was entered in prior years, and I admit to not always entered things. This year I went back and researched what was correct, but of course, that didn't agree with the worksheets. I could correct things, but I couldn't override them. And the overrides on a worksheet should be allowed, and not rejected for efiling. Just saying. TT is not in control of the information, I am.

Auto feed S-corp K1's into my personal tax return
on April 7, 2025
Posted by: K1 autofeed
I had a real difficult time with my small S-corp that has both rental real estate and an agricultural business. I couldn't figure out how to trigger multiple K-1's (one for each business line). Having a single K1 with real estate and non-real estate business totals consolidated made it very difficult to load my personal taxes as TT Home wanted to see them split out. In the future I would like to tie my S-corp details to be imported automatically into my personal tax return. My wife file jointly and we are the only owners of the S-crorp so all of it's profit and loss comes to our personal return..
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I bought or sold investments

Need More Help
on April 7, 2025

I filed an extension in March. I updated the extended tax return to issue the final return and it is telling me the tax return has already been accepted and won't let me transmit the final return. There is no help information to resolve this issue and it has created a problem on how to finish this return electronically. Still trying to figure it out.
