Most confusing program

This is my first year using the "Business" program for my Trust return. This program is very complicated and did not populate the information onto my K-1 form. I also use the "Premier" program to file my income taxes and find that this program is much clearer in its steps and explanation.

The people are great. The tech not so much.

Let me start by saying the live assistance I got was fantastic. She wasn't able to get me to a solution but she spent the time, tapped into necessary resources, and didn't give up on me. She put in an escalation ticket that I still have to wait on, but I spent several more hours on my own rebuilding my tax return and manually hunting down errors the step-by-step guided version did not pick up. Ended up fixing it on my own. So, A for the human talent, and F for the software implementation.

Need more options for Trust and Estate

I only need the trust forms to file and I have to pay for the full Business software which is double the price of standard software. I don't feel like I should pay this ,much for one form. Also, the state is not available and I still need to fill those out by hand.

This year's Turbo Tax Desktop was a good as usual. New changes were well explained. Don't now what to to with out it.

Turbo Tax Business is clumsy and limited

Hard to navigate between step-by-step and return itself, and hard to search for subjects or help. When doing an amended return, it will not let you e-file - have to print and mail it in, which defeats much of the reason for buying the software. The state return also can't be e-filed, and some required forms are missing (e.g. PTE Tax form).

Excellent product. Makes filing easy. One suggestion is to allow downloading of tax information from my financial institution, like you do for 1040's

Watchout for state return issues

I had a horrible experience with this product. I spent a lot of money just to do this online. The federal program was completed and I then went into the Ohio return. When completed, the federal was filed fine but the Ohio return was not found in the file. I was on the phone for hours with various support personnel. They ended up sending me a desktop version. I had to re-enter all my federal information by hand because the tax.file would not come into the program. The two program are different and handle some line items different so I have a small descrepancy. I had paid for the state return originally. Then I had to pay for it again to be able to load the Ohio program. I have submitted refund requests for all amounts. I could have completed hand forms spending less time.
Pros: My employment status changed this year
