TurboTax Business is Good, But ------

Estate/Trust does not support North Carolina tax filing.
Problem w/1099-INT Line 10 (Market Discount): 1099-INT from bank entry = 0. Turbo Tax will not accept. Must enter "1" even though there is not a "Market Discount". Found solution by talking with Support.
Purchased 2 Turbo Tax Business Desktop packages for two different Estates. Can not work with two tax filings simultaneously. Must remove one package to work on the other package. Very cumbersome and time consuming.

Could use some improvement

I found the program less user-friendly this year. There was no instruction/information for reporting installment sale interest in year 2. It would be helpful to have an Installment Sale category in the Income section.

Federal was excellent. MD state not so good.

Using the software was easy. Filing the Federal return via E-file was also easy and worked fine. Turbo tax would not e-file my Maryland State return so I printed it out and mailed it in. Yesterday I got a letter from the Maryland Comptroller's office informing that Form 504 was incomplete. Indeed, my pdf doesn't show a completed Form 504 document; it printed out a scan form with the entries but no pre-printed text. I guess I will use the Form 504 that I printed from WWW.marylandtaxes.gov and hand write my TurboTax amounts into the form and send that in with everything else (again).

3X the price of individual software just because they can get away with it. Lack of features standard for base level individual tax prep software. Horrible UX.

Transfer of State previous tax data?
