I've been using TurboTax for around 20 years. It's always been easy to fill out the forms and file my taxes.

Terrible but better than the worse options

There's always so many things that don't work. Individually, these are all small glitches, but they add up to hours of wasted time. So many things I cannot enter in step-by-step. I have to switch to forms view to fix some things. Then other things are impossible to enter until I run error checking and then the field I needed is magically available to enter. I would use any other tax preparation product but the others actually seem worse. So... way to go Intuit? Making your product marginally better than the rest of the terrible trash

Does not handle land installment contract sales well and continually requires paper filing for the state.

Flaws in Software

We filed for a trust. The trust sold a property with funds disbursed to beneficiaries. California requires taxes to be withheld from the sale that show up on form 592-B. This amount transfers to 541 and ultimately to K-1. There is a problem with the software as it shows the tax payment as an overpaid tax on 541, line 38, and also as a credit on K-1, Line 13B. This is telling the state there should be a refund, 541, line 42, in addition to a credit on the K-1. Since funds were disbursed, it should only show up on the K-1 and not a refund on 541, line 42. There is no way to override the software and no way to write a note to CA FTB to explain.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax Needs to Fix Bug

Creating 1065 return was fine. Creating pdf's of partner k1's was painful and time consuming. Software repeatedly generated only the first 9 partner k-1's. No troubleshooting fixes remedied problem, which forced a very time consuming process of taking the master pdf containing all cover letters and k-1s (uncollated) and creating individual pdf's emailed to each partner.
