Turbo Tax Business Sucks

it was horrible. I was never able to complete my taxes. Turbo tax kept flagging things that weren't even relevant. I finally had to get a friend to help me complete my taxes. To be fair the Turbo Tax personal taxes are much better.

TurboTax Business Suggestion

I use TurboTax Business as a trustee for a trust for an elderly relative (obviously on a PC). I use TurboTax Premier for my personal taxes on a Mac. Comparing the two is like night and day. At a minimum I'd like to see the trust portion of the business application available for Mac so I don't have to switch computers. I don't really think a trust of this kind needs the full business version. So you could just include trusts as either part of a more advanced personal version or something stand alone (on the Mac). It would also help to have more help and explanations similar to what is offered on the personal versions. Since this is not really a business per se, I only become involved with it at tax time.

Difficult experience for the novice

It was really difficult using the TurboTax for Business as a first time user. The explanations were not clear for a novice, I did not like how it dumped me in to a help search web page when you need more detail on a topic. I received better explanations searching Google e.g calculating deprecation of a asset. The disposing of capital asset - real property / houses / buildings was handled in a round about way, this area need to be clean up, disposing of an house/building is not the same as recycle a copier. I did not like review had you re-answer questions during a review that I had previously answered. I had to write the questions down that I have previously answered to ensure consistency. I did not like getting an error on e-file because I have not performed an app update in the last four hours. I had performed an update four hours earlier and the e-file failed requiring me to perform a update of the app before I could e-file. After the up date it me start my review and file process over from the beginning. I did not have the level of confidence with the results of the TurboTax for Business that I have with other personal Intuit and TurboTax products. I would recommend with reservation and awareness that it will be a difficult experience. I could be easily convinced to switch product.

Minor gripe: I was instructed by the help chat at QuickBooks Online that I can now import the output spreadsheet into the TurboTax Business desktop (for the 1120-S) which turned out to be false.
