Once great, now confusing Turbo Tax Business

The basics went great, it is a relatively simple return. There were 2 entries that continued to error, even though I verified the data and the necessary forms. I did not understand what was needed as it all looked correct based on the definitions. So I am printing and mailing the returns instead of e-filing adding cost.

TT Bus. 2024 - 20 years of increasing frustration

As with so many previous versions of TT, the program wouldn't install on my PC (Win10, Cyberpower with all updates). There were no warnings, simply got to a point in my tax return to review something and the program crashed without warning. Again. And Again. Finally got it to install on a Win11 laptop, went into a user forum and found a notice about C++ redistributables (2022 version); installed those in the Win10 computer (it was actually a downgrade in the version) at which point it seemed to have worked.
Filed electronically without problem.
My main complaint about this program is that each and every previous version of TurboTax I've used has basic functionality; an upgraded version simply gives you more options and abilities. However, TT Business 2024 WILL NOT DO PERSONAL TAXES!! I needed the program to file for a simple living trust, then to do my own taxes; however, now I'll have to purchase another program to do my personal taxes. (File up to 5 returns! Free e-file! Free state! But no personal. . . !?@) I think this is something that should be clearly marked in the descriptions. My whole trust return I could have done with four easily-accessible IRS forms, and mailed it in. I thought there would be enough help in TurboTax Business to truly guide me through the process but still, when I accessed the help screens, I got an AI BOT that simply told me silly distractions that were completely unhelpful.
I feel TT Home & Business ought to supply the ability to do trusts for families dealing with Estate and Trust issues after parents' deaths. I understand that TT Business is aimed at, well, Business--but to throw in the ability to do personal taxes as well would have been a very nice gesture for all my 20+ years of using TurboTax. The interview process has remained kludgy and most of what I do is only for the math and help in filling out forms. I think overall I'm being generous in giving this version only two stars--with the understanding that I didn't stretch its' capabilities because I didn't do a business return at all--but still feel I've paid way too much for a program that did so very little.

Turbotax is good but plenty of areas to improve

Data transfer from 2023 to 2024 is good except for business start date not included. After turbotax software update, my balance sheet numbers got screwed up. Working with an agent after multiples tries, we were able to solve it by deleting a line entry, entering 0, then re-entering the right number. Obviously a software bug which is impossible to report to Intuit. 2nd tier support agent was good. Turbotax needs to be better handling things like hyphens in SSN when required or not. Turbotax doesn't have much intelligence resolving issues, particularly when they were the same in previous years.

Needs work on getting the app

A little easier this year with the important from a previous year, have been using this app since 20219.
PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL WITH THE NEXT YEAR TAX APP TO DOWNLOAD!!! WHAT A PAIN, AND I THINK I BOUGHT ONE FROM ANOTHER APP! We have a very simple LLC.

Bad experience your format is wrong why I need to ANSWER questions how good your company is when I have not finished my work yet. You're stopping the process I lost the file, and I never print the file and when I got back you ARE telling me that I need to amend? the form? I have all morning doing one stupid W-2 form

Another easy tax year

Easy filing process for small business. TurboTax provided guidance along the way, and gave explanations for what is required with applicable examples. The review process helped to ensure accuracy and better understanding of auto-calculated values like depreciated assets. Was it fun and fast? Well, it was faster than a hard copy and cheaper than a tax adviser. Talk to Congress about 'fun'.
