Fed and CA Business Returns

Federal Return was fine. Treatment of the California AB150 PTE tax option was confusing and not a straight walk through like the rest of the program. Having all of the various estimates together would have been helpful as well as a one page summary of tax situation and to-do list.

Desktop version needs to support all 50 states!

Federal return was easy to prepare and file. However, I was very disappointed that Tubro Tax does not support e-filing an Idaho S corporation tax return. The marketing promotion indicated that one state e-file is included in the purchase price. I did not learn that Idaho was not supported by Turbo Tax Desktop until I started preparing the return which by then was too late to look for other options, i.e. a different software package. I assume that Turbo Tax did not dedicate the resources to supporting Idaho e-filing becuase it is a low population state with relatively few S corporation filings. After purchasing Desktop version I learned tha Turbo Tax Live supports Idaho e-filing. Why was Desktop not included in the Idaho filing? Seems like that would be an easy thing to do if the Live version supports it? I suspect it was purposely omitted as a marketing ploy to offer an inferior Desktop product that can be upgraded to an Online product for more money. That is a pretty lame way to do business if you ask me.

Fantastic. I did have to call you and someone named Jordyn helped me. She was fantastic and waited until I was totally where I needed to be. The service you provide free of being able to call is a primary reason I use Turbo Tax.

TurboTax is great!

I filled 1200S and W2 by hand first and decided to try TurboTax Business for the first time. It was good experience, but had some issues that tax experts from TurboTax Business helped me overcome. Thanks to TurboTax Business and its tax experts on phone.

Good - but still room for improvement

The Federal version of the Business software is a good value
- helps us file most employer forms (albeit with some limitations)
- handles returns a variety of types of entities

The State version is wimpy, and costs $55 + tax for each state & each entity type ... which ends up costing far more than the Federal software.
The error check in the AZ S-Corp version is NOT checking the prior year income field, which is needed to complete the return. I passed both Fed. & AZ error check, and while printing the returns it told me I had an error. I had to go back to the State & found that was a required field.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
