Software is Decent, Intuit Support is Invaluable

This was my first year filing for my own S-corp business filing. I made it 95% of the way through with the software on my own, but had a few small questions to work through a couple errors I was getting before I was ready to file. I contacted support and the gentleman that helped me was very kind, knowledgeable, and efficient at helping me clear those issues and get my return filed in less than a half hour. It was so great to be able to call someone to confirm those last few questions before I filed.

Unhappy Marriage with Turbo Tax

I have an unhappy marriage with Turbo Tax. All my business history is in TurboTax, and It gets the job done, but I dislike the experience. I am also disappointed that Turbo Tax dropped support for older versions of QuickBooks.

TurboTax Discourages DIY

When I logged into my account this year to start business return, the default was Business Live which is a much higher cost product. I just wanted to access/download the same TT Business DIY package I use every year, but there was nowhere to click for it, to find it, purchase it, etc. after logging in. Each year it becomes more and more complicated to find online and purchase the DIY Business download, and it is not clear on the TurboTax website which business version is required for an S Corp filing. Had to actually call TurboTax and spent half hour with tax expert just to find which version I needed to download. Agent said she would send me link directly to it, but never did. Had to call again and it took another agent more than a half hour on the phone and on screen share to figure out how/where to purchase the download online. This is the first year I was so frustrated just GETTING TurboTax that I was seriously considering another tax prep program.
