Intuit isn't awesome ... anymore.

I'm a long time Intuit customer having used both QuickBooks Desktop and TurboTax for the past 20+ years. That said, I would gladly kick your newest products to the curb. Why would you require QB Desktop users to transition to QB Online when you can't yet import Intuit's QB Online files into Intuit's TurboTax Business. Talk about silos. Get this fixed. While you are fixing things do you know your payment site won't take credit cards with a 2025 expiration date.

Overall pretty happy

Overall pretty happy. But, can be a bit more user friendly. Especially when doing Schedule L I basically have to manually balance the assets and liabilities each time, it does not do it right automatically. Also, should have an option to save the completed return online in our account because often we switch computers or lose saved return and then basically have to repeat so much information when that happens the following year.

TurboTax Business is sadly behind the times

1) All I need to do is file a 1041 for a trust. Many people are in this same position. Why doesn't TurboTax have a much simpler and less costly program to do this? We don't need everything else that TurboTax Business can do. 2) Why on earth is TurboTax Business unable to download the Trust information directly from my Broker, like TurboTax Premier does?!? Why, after paying so much for TurboTax Business, do I have to ferret out all those blasted numbers on the paper copy from my Broker and manually type them into the program?!? FIX THIS, please!

For Trust and Estate Tax returns, the software does not include DE state tax forms. This is disappointing after spending $150 for the software package.

TurboTax is good but.

Mostly good but I had trouble with the Federal Partnership Return specifically focused on the balance sheet entries. I chose to use the guided approach and had significant trouble getting the capital amounts balanced. I reviewed all the forms individually and could not locate where the incorrect information was stored. After reviewing several on line help notes, I found a reference to use the quick entry solution. Upon using the quick entry, it took me to a second page that contained the incorrect info which I was able to change. After review, I was still not able to locate where this information was accessible except through quick entry. I also was not sure where the incorrect information had come from since I had not previously used the quick entry solution. I suspect TurboTax auto populated the info on my first pass and then never updated it after that leading to an error that was difficult to resolve. Also, from early on, I could see the error was driven by Form 1065 p5-6 line 21 column D. Unfortunately the magnifying glass, quick zoom and Source selections do not work for this field which made tracking down the source very challenging. I've used TurboTax for years and have higher expectations for the product. It would not be such a challenge but I spent probably 4 hours tracking down the solution to this problem which with correctly working quick zoom or source could have been solved in a few minutes.
