I've used it for 3 years and have yet to file electronically due to it's poor diagnostics that are wrong most cases, and won't let you continue until resolved. The procedure for selection of forms is confusing. The interview pages have choices that don't match up to the radio buttons used to select them. I overcame everything except the diagnostics - I still can't file electronically, so it's paper again.. I think I'm done - beware of this software.
Cons: Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare, Hard to install, Hard to import

I had problems getting the 2016 federal business tax software to correctly do a tax return for a simple estate. The customer service seems to be by phone only and when I called there was a long wait time. I hung up. I cannot find a way to send an email to the support.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare
Pros: Easy to install, Fast

Software Deficiencies (or my lack of knowledge)

In general I like the software. However I have had no success in filling out the forms for foreign taxes or K1s. I have accomplished this by using overrides. This of course makes electronic fileing a no-no.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to import

I thought last years was much better. Under medical expenses this year did not list many of the allowed deductibles that it did last year. ie, how much one can deduct for hotel while at a distant hospital. This is only one example. It was also not clear on the mutual funds for oversea ownership. This year 2016 not nearly as good as last years in the help department..

Greatest Tax Software Ever

I purchased H&R Block Premium at the end of January, Once I received all of my tax documents, it was on! There was an issue downloading the software, which was a Window 10 issue, not H&R Block, but I called the help desk and the problem was resolved immediately. As far as the tax return software is concerned, it is amazing. It walks you through every single step of the way, with tutorials and help tabs on every subject. I had a question that was a tad bit confusing, but I called the help desk, yet again, on a Sunday, mind you, and received an answer with explanation immediately. I not only got my taxes done, I got my taxes WON! This is by far the best software package that I have ever used. I had been a faithful user of the other provider, but I don't see myself ever go back. All I can say is, keep up the great work! Another highly satisfied customer....

Straight forward and easily prepared and e-filed. However, I have not seen any evidence that my due IRS taxes have been paid via my CCard nor have I RECEIVED ANY DIRECTIONS AS TO HOW TO SEND A CHECK FOR TAXES DUE TO MY STATE.

As a long time user of Tax Cut and now H&R Block tax software, I am still very
pleased with using the programs. As a first year trial E-Filer and have every year,
it is a joy to file online and spend only a few days doing taxes....not the weeks it used to take me doing paper filings. Using your tax software makes going thru all my receipts etc. a breeze. Going back for review and additions makes the program a
must for someone with reams of things to be filed.
Thanks again for so much help. Keep up the fine product.
