Mediocre Guidance

Because I've used tax software and worked with tax preparers for years I could navigate HRBlock. Software needs to do a better job of navigating especially when corrections are required

I prepare tax returns professionally, yet, I always do my own tax return using H&R Block software. It does not let you make mistakes. Helps you correct anything before transmitting.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

Good not Great

Still needs some work. Sold a rental property and not a good explanation of form 4797. Had to then go backwards to enter figure from 4797 to return. Not intuitive. 1120s was even more difficult. Need to be savvy to use.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

Wrong agi couldn’t efile

The program gave me the wrong AGI for last year. I got an email the irs rejected it, but the program kept saying “ pending”. I could not make changes needed. I had to start all over with a new return and file it myself.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Improvement from earlier versions

The best thing was the capability to import previous year without the need to install a 2nd. and older program, from an year earlier.
