I have used H&R software for several years. I have 12 rental properties as well as regular income and the sale of of a property during some of the years. Although it is time consuming to gather tmy records and enter the information, it is not difficult. It even handled my QCD and my 20% business deduction for the rentals easily. Everything carried over to the State, so that part was easy. I only wish that all the updates were done by early February instead of March.; probably due to IRS not being ready with final forms.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

great tax software never had an issue until this year when the business wouldn't update this year I've had to uninstall and reinstall the business portion 4 times will be trying it for a 5th time on a windows 10 os computer soon.

Software is clunky, often had unexplained stops. This is the second year I have used it. It really falls short of the Personal HR Block program which I have used for more than 10 years.

Great for federal not good for CT state

The product is accurate and easy to use for the federal IRS tax return. However it is wrong for the State of CT return. It grossly underestimated the social security deduction. This results in a 3 times lower refund than that obtained using the online State of CT website software . This has been an ongoing issue for many years.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

This will probably be my last year using H&R Block software. It's always had slight quirks and minor bugs, but this year's had enough issues that I'm going back to TaxCut despite the higher price. Still managed to get my return filed. Just little things, but annoying and time-wasters.
Cons: Hard to prepare
