It’s more difficult to follow than TurboTax. It’s not very user friendly overall. It did not allow us to e-file our state 1065. It’s difficult to change any items you may need to. But the process was hundreds less and it did get the job done. It’s a very “DOS” experience.

Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

The 1040/540 program was easy to follow. Thank you. Sadly, the 1041 and 541 program not - I had to look for the 541 program in the forms section. Why doesn't the 541 follow the 1041 automatically? Very frustrating

Premium software is ok, business software is awful

I've used this software for many years. The premium (personal) software is ok. Has a few quirks, but I got used to them. I need the business software only to file form 1041 for a disability trust in favor of my daughter. This software is truly awful! For the first time this year, electronic filing was offered, but I couldn't do it because of inexplicable, often nonsensical error messages. I printed and filed paper as usual.

Setting the stage: THE TWO reasons I'm glad I bought this is because you at least offer telephone support. , and the ND state software handled my K-1 for royalties well. 1. The product itself has far too many obstacles to overcome: 2. Not very intuitive at all - topics are frequently hard to locate. 3. "Instructions" assume we know where to find things - a LOT. 4. NO import option available for major stock broker tax documents. 5. Misdirection from 1099-MISC entry to demanding an accompanying 1099-K entry. Need to call to get a workaround. 6. Entering data for oil royalties was nothing short of a nightmare. Again, with (very weak) telephone guidance I managed to get through it. 7. Your "software experts" handing phone calls, as hard as they try, are anything BUT "experts."
If I had to do it over again, I would still buy your software because of the telephone support, weak and sloppy as it is - and - the fact that Turbotax, after my using it for 10 years, STILL can't handle a ND K-1.
