I’ve used H & R Block tax software for years but. . . This year following a Federal update, all my current and previous saved files were deleted from my computer. The file folder is there but all contents are gone! Not sure if I’ll use H&R Block next year. My situation has been escalated to a team in the hopes that they can unravel and help my situation.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I found the software a little more simpler to use compared to competitors, and had less distractions. I like the UI.
That said, the updates were frustrating as the premier software that I purchased still didn't have the planning tab working. Hopefully that gets updated soon.

I've used this program over the years and overall, I've been pretty happy with it. The program has some quirks and could use some changes, but overall, it's been ok. They make changes every year and not all of them seem like an upgrade. Like for 2024 you don't see a preview of the Fed/State acceptance page before you print it.
