I have used H&R Block tax software for well over a decade now. The last year or two has me reconsidering that decision. It feels like your software is an afterthought to your main business, it has gotten much more difficult to use. Since my business is just on paper with no actual earnings, it should be much easier than it has been lately, and the personal tax is also more of a mess. If it wasn't for importing data from past filings, I would have not purchased it this time, and am seriously considering starting over with Intuit.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

When I tried to do a trust return, the program asked for information from a prior form that hadn't been part of the interview. The help desk resolved that issue by identifying the missing form. In the final review, the program found a problem, but then wouldn't allow me to change the entry. Finally, because of the unresolved error, the program wouldn't let me e-file, and when I tried to print the return for a manual filing, the print function "crashed" repeatedly mid-way through the print. I ended up saving the return in a PDF format and using a different program to print the return.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This excellent tax preparation software for both personal and business application. Very straightforward instructions and steps to complete and file tax returns. I have used this software for over 15 yrs with great success. My only “complaint” is that over all these years H&R Block has not developed business tax software for the Mac operating system!!

I like it because I need to file a 1040 and 1041 return. The 1041 software is much more obtuse than 1040. The 1041program needs to be updated so it is as easierr to use incorporating 1040ish as much as possible consistent with tax law.
