tried to use the online version and got extremely lost within minutes and had to delete program and return, had this copy in draw and decide to install this and glad I did, was 100% better and had home and business done in no time.
If you are buying this version, it is for both products. The personal tax program is excellent, but the business tax program assumes the user has a modest level of tax knowledge and a willingness to lookup answers on the IRS website/documents. This core business program hasn't changed for several years, so H&R Block is clearly intending to steer causal business owners to their professional services. If this scares you, use a professional.
I e-filed California three times before it was accepted. Each time H&R Block's audit found no problems, but California did. H&R Bock software instructs: "California Worksheets correspond to the federal Worksheets". Not true! There is no California #6. Federal #3 = California #2. Federal #5 = California #4. Federal #6 = California #5. The incorrect H&R instruction provided in the software resulted in the California e-file rejections. If the California software handled Passive Activity Loss Limitations as completely as the Federal software does, there would have been no problem. At the very least, the H&R Block software should state which Federal worksheet numbers correspond to which California worksheet numbers. I have used H&R Block software for years and have e-filed since the capability became available, but I have never previously had an e-file rejection.
