It is inexcusable that the personal part of the software cannot properly handle certain K1 items generated by the Business part of the same software package.

eFiling is limited to 5 returns. Allow purchase of additional efilings in increments of say 5. With the cost of postage and paper and storage by the IRS. Efile is the way to go.

I could never have imagined doing my own taxes, Most of my friends feel it’s a responsibility better left to paid tax professionals. Not True ! With HR Block you are guided via a soft wear program that not only educates but audits your return for accuracy prior to submission. I have been with HR Block over 2 decades. In that time I have never been audited and have received refunds that are well above the average !

Not the best for deceased family and estate taxes.

I bought the Premium & Business version so that I could prepare not only my personal taxes, but taxes for deceased family members and their estates. I have been a long-time user of H&R Block tax software for my personal taxes and thought very highly of the product; however, the product was disappointing for preparing the taxes for deceased family members and their estates. The issue with the deceased member's taxes is the software did not provide ALL filing forms and information. For example, the software knew the return was for a deceased member, but did not instruct me to complete IRS Form 1310 and did not instruct me to include a death certificate with the tax submittal. It was only after waiting several weeks and getting a letter from the IRS that I learned the Form 1310 and death certificate were REQUIRED. I had the same issue with the state filing--there was a need to follow up with my state's department of revenue to include the state's equivalent of the Form 1310 and a copy of the death certificate. Lastly, I believe the software does not do an adequate job for estate taxes--it comingles questions for trusts throughout the interview process even though I selected the tax return was for an estate; this made the process overly confusing/complicated.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
